Sankranti Celebrations

Welcome to the Tennessee Andhra Samithi Website. We are happy to have you visit us. If our hearts long for some Telugu Samskriti, it is ours to claim here and now, for it depends on the hearts of its people not on its land. If we come together and join hands to celebrate our heritage, then Telugunadu is not limited to Andhra Pradesh and surrounding States. It is where Telugus are. We have left Andhra Pradesh, but Andhra Pradesh does not have to leave us. TAS accomplishes just that by enabling us celebrate, preserve, and most importantly pass on our heritage to our children.

Since its inception in 1995, Tennessee Andhra Samithi has grown into a sizeable organization with membership of over a hundred and fifty families. Every year it celebrates Sankranti, Ugadi and Dasera with great food and even greater entertainment. With the establishment of the Telugu school, Chaitanya Bharathi, at Sri Ganesha Temple, TAS has gone a step further in fostering our language and heritage.
